March 30: Simultaneous “Free the UF Monkeys” Protests in Gainesville & Jax
On Sunday, March 30 from 12 to 1:30 pm, join one of our simultaneous protests in 2 convenient locations:
University of Florida
15 NW 13th Street
(corner of West University Avenue & NW 13th Street)
GAINESVILLE, Florida 32611
St. John’s Town Center
4663 River City Drive
JACKSONVILLE, Florida 32246
Inside the University of Florida right now, at least 25 monkeys are being subjected to cruel and sadistic experiments under the guise of “medical research.” Some are being forcefed arsenic-laced dirt at the behest of the Florida Dept of Environmental Protection. Why? Because the state of Florida has built playgrounds where our children right this minute are playing in… you guessed it… Arsenic-laced dirt! This is what you call CYA. Other monkeys are being forcefed heavy metals and other poisons to bolster marketing claims for corporations. Just last year six monkeys were tortured to death and their little brains extracted from their deteriorated bodies for the sole reason that the Michael J. Fox Foundation gave UF the money with which they ran amuck.
If any of the current victims live through their horrific ordeals, they may or may not be allowed to be adopted by Jungle Friends at which time new victims will take their place. It’s time to say ENOUGH!!! We need to get the monkeys released and the assembly line shut down.
So far we’ve sued UF 3 times for failure to comply with Florida state law. Two federal complaints have been filed against them within the last 6 months for systemic incompetence and endemic corruption inside their labs. Now we need to engage and educate the community and take a stand until we Free the UF Monkeys!
