by NIO Florida
On December 20, 2011, the University of Florida officially refused a court order to comply with our lawsuit to disclose public vivisection records. They cite a veterinary-patient privilege under which, if they are to be successful, they will need to prove that vivisection is being done in their victim’s best interest. Although we are looking at a protracted legal battle, NIO now has an opportunity to expose the insidious nature of animal experimentation in a court of law. The implications and ramifications of this case for our community are significant.
Therefore, in our continuing efforts to stop the flow of funds into UF’s animal torture labs, we are continuing to bring this campaign to their global network of benefactors.
At 7 pm tonight, Rutgers University in New Jersey will host a basketball game against the University of Florida.
UF’s New York Alumni — the Gotham Gators — will hold their “viewing party” on Manhattan’s upper westside. NIO activists will begin to gather at 6:15 to greet them:
The Gin Mill
442 Amsterdam Avenue
New York, New York
Flyers have been printed and signs will be handed out to activists. For anyone coming, if you have a toy stuffed monkey, please bring it.
We thank all of our comrades in New York for all of your efforts and support.
