BREAKING: Federal Investigation of UF’s Illegal Wild Monkey Experiments Demanded

PRESS RELEASE
For Immediate Release
March 9, 2015

Today, Eleventh Hour For Animals has just filed a complaint with the USDA demanding a mandatory Federal investigation into the secret and potentially – illegal “research” to which the University of Florida is subjecting wild monkeys along the Silver River in Marion, Co Florida. Exclusive images captured by Freelance Photographer Graham McGeorge. and published last month depict a wild macaque with a primitive tracking collar device attached tightly around his neck. According to Graham McGeorge, who was able to physically see this monkey, “when I spotted the macaque, he was distressed and had distanced himself from the troop, he also had deep wounds and cuts to his neck with blood on his chest!” read more

Once again I ask, Minister of Propaganda who lied to Florida Media, saying they are only exploiting one Wild Monkey!

Breaking News:
Documents obtained by 11th hr. prove that UF is conducting research, on at least 8 Wild Monkeys, in the Silver River Park area and these collars are to be left on these monkeys for a time period of 1 year, contrary to the 2 months they want the media to print.
In all actuality, one can clearly view the picture and know the collar was on much longer than “2 months”

“Face of Innocence”

Face of Innocence“Face of Innocence”
by Graham McGeorge

“Rhesus Macaques have frequented the Silver River since the 1930’s. Brought here against their free will almost ninety years ago, they are still considered an invasive species. At what point do they earn the environmental protective rights of the native animals ?

The University of Florida is conducting research on these monkeys and the state is turning a blind eye. This abuse and cruelty has to stop now!

We are getting conflicting stories from all sources, and this means but one thing….Lies, lies, lies!
If you are on the Silver River, please keep your eyes peeled and let me know of any collared or injured sightings…thank you.”

Collard Monkey Update w/Action

8UF is claiming the collar was removed from the Macaque photographed by the Silver River in FL, but will not provide any proof.
Unfortunately their past history does not lead one to believe they are one of a Reputable Organization.
1. They are claiming that only one macaque was collared.
2. They claim the one macaque was not injured, but will give no proof.
3.They acknowledged the Open Records Request sent on Tues, 10th 2015, the same day which is highly unusual for UF, but giving the benefit of the doubt, I will continue to wait a “reasonable amount of time” until further action is taken.
I have added pictures of this Rhesus Macaque, so you may see for yourself and make your own decision. There was no treatment given to the macaque, which should have been the very first thing done, that is if you want things done in a humane manner. They claim it causes less distress to catch the monkey to give veterinary care but they didn’t seem to think twice when the caught him to attach an oversized, stone-age collar, to “begin” an experiment, did they! Humane they say ….
If the collar was removed anyone in this area please keep your eyes open for a macaque with an injured neck. If you have friends that Kayak in this area please spread the word, they may help as well.
The pictures I have seen look as though, there are clearly injuries under the collar that need medical attention, this monkey must be in distress and I do not take UF’s “word” for anything!
They have as yet to give any type of proof concerning the health and welfare of this monkey and I dare say “are there more” was there really only one?

Torturing animals for fun and profit

by Jerry Vlasak, MD

On a daily basis, animals are drowned, suffocated and starved to death; they have their limbs severed and their organs crushed; they are burned, exposed to radiation and used in experimental surgeries; they are shocked, raised in isolation, exposed to weapons of mass destruction and rendered blind or paralyzed; they are given heart attacks, ulcers, paralysis, and seizures; they are forced to inhale tobacco smoke, drink alcohol, and ingest various drugs like heroin and cocaine.

Those who perpetrate these still legal crimes, their utter and complete violence, callousness and indifference against non human animals, can’t and don’t want to see that what they are doing is not only a crime against God, Allah, Buddha, nature and life itself, but results in the suffering and death of millions of humans. The University and pharmaceutical industry’s addiction to archaic and outmoded animal research results i

Federal Complaint Filed: Shut down UF’s Primate Labs for repeated violations of state & federal law

Last week Eleventh Hour for Animals introduced “Booger,” a victim inside the University of Florida who was contaminated with German Measles from the day he was purchased from the now-defunct Primate Products in Miami. Never treated for this condition, he has steadily deteriorated, exhibiting increasing indications that he is descending into madness, his body compromised by repeatedly being force-fed poisons at the direction of Raymond J. Bergeron for over a decade, and, recently, he began throwing his own feces at his tormenters in a feeble attempt to fight back. In January, he was just approved for another 3 years of torture that will turn Bergeron’s pockets crimson red with the blood of this pitiful victim. The following complaint has just been filed with the USDA for 6 counts of federal violations and to demand that the primate torture industry inside UF be shut down permanently for the reasons enumerated below.

COMPLAINT CITES CORRUPTION AND NEGLIGENCE IN UF MONKEY LABS

Moments ago, Eleventh Hour for Animals filed a second federal complaint with the USDA for violations of the Animal Welfare Act citing a culture of corruption inside the University of Florida and a companion culture of negligence that permeates their nonhuman primate experimentation program. The complaint filed by the group’s founder, Camille A. Marino, relates solely to a 6-monkey “research” study funded by the Michael J. Fox Foundation, the shocking details of which we reported days ago. Among the documented violations: the “scientific” rationale offered by UF for the torment visited on six macaques was simply that the Fox Foundation was willing to give them the money to do so when they couldn’t find funding elsewhere; there are up to 5-month lapses where some of the monkeys were neither monitored nor was any care whatsoever recorded; and they actually LOST a monkey.

Eleventh Hour successfully puts UF on the defensive to ring in 2014!

Karen Kline, Senior Lab Investigator for Eleventh Hour has been talking to the media all day about the systemic culture of corruption and incompetence inside UF behind which their animal torture industry is hidden from the public. Please read this interview in the Gainesville Sun; all comments appreciated: Animal Rights group files complaint against UF. For those of you in Gainesville, be sure to watch her feature on TV20 this evening. And now that we’ve forced the University of Florida to pull out their last defense — federal regulations that insure “humane” vivisection regimens — we are about to divest them of this final instrument of propaganda…

It is worth noting that nowhere in the mainstream media (i.e., UF propaganda networks) has it been mentioned thus far that the university has remained in noncompliance with Florida law since winning our last lawsuit nor have they mentioned that we filed a THIRD LAWSUIT against them days ago. As we expected, however, about two-thirds of the Gainesville Sun article is directed at placating the taxpayers with visions of a USDA fairy that magically sprinkles Animal Welfare Act fairy dust on all the “happy” mutilated, caged, suffering and tormented animals in their labs. Well the fairy godmother of institutionalized animal torture is about to die a public and painful death!

Moments ago, with our attorney Marcy I. LaHart monitoring the situation, we filed for unredacted records documenting the dogs and horses being subj

Breaking: UF hit with third lawsuit from activists

Eleventh Hour  filed a federal complaint citing systemic incompetence among the “medical researchers” abusing primates inside the University of Florida days ago on December 24. On the heels of that indictment from activists, we filed a third lawsuit in the courts against the University of Florida for suppressing public records documenting the extent of their taxpayer-funded atrocities.

On December 26, 2013, attorney Marcy I. LaHart filed the suit on behalf of Eleventh Hour’s Karen Kline. Case No. 2013 CA 005479 has been assigned to Judge Roundtree and we are awaiting a date on the docket. Represented by Ms. LaHart, Camille Marino successfully sued UF twice and took possession of the records that underlie the federal complaint filed earlier this week. Several of our colleagues are expected to be present in Gainesville when this case is heard in 2014.

It took three years of legal battles to secure unredacted records through December 2010 of which we finally took possession in April of 2013. All further requests
